Call it guilt because Sawyer has never endured a photo shoot at 3 months, 6 months, or 9 months like his brother did (sorry Target & Picture People!) or call it a heavy heart because my little baby is growing up!!!  Soon Sawyer will be walking, talking, and goofing off just like his big brother!  The thought of it makes me a little sad…so I’m trying to capture it all on my camera!  Now, don’t get me wrong…I love getting pics of Jackson also, but he is THREE and not as willing to have pictures taken.  (It seems an exhausting process for both of us!)

So here are a few pics of my littlest guy…in the tub, on a picnic, crawling, and climbing!  BTW, the last two are his favorite!  Today he crawled over to the window, stood up, banged on it….then crawled over to the coffee table, stood up, and banged on it….then crawled over to the couch, stood up, and banged on it….he is such hot stuff! And of course he was smiling the entire time!

Oh yeah, some of the pictures are blurry because the child is constantly moving.  Seriously.

And as for the “wubba nubba” — that’s just one of his many aliases….he also goes by Soy Boy, Bubba, Bam Bam, Sawyer Boyer (boyer for short), Wubbas….

Mostly Sawyer!

Guess who’s 3! September 10, 2007

Jackson turned 3 on Friday!  I can’t believe it…such a big boy!  He had his Jimmy Buffet birthday party Saturday, which was a complete success!  I think we all had fun!

Mommy and Daddy gave him a microphone on Friday…he also got another gift after that, but we are giving it to him again for Christmas.  After he opened the microphone he didn’t want anything else!  He woke up Saturday morning at 7:15 (instead of 8:30).  Brad went in his room and told him it wasn’t time to get up yet and to go back to sleep.  To which Jackson replied, “Ok, Daddy.  I’ll go to sleep ooooonnnneeeee more time, and THEN I can get up and play with my microphone!  Right?”

His birthday party was complete with palm trees, leighs, and an island cake…and of course margaritas for the adults!  I think the giant palm tree decoration threw him off a little.   Brad showed it to him while I was getting ready.  He came running into our room and yelled, “Mommy!  There’s a TREE!!”

”Where?” I asked.  (going along with it…)

“Right THERE!!” he yelled…pointing towards the kitchen.  He grabbed my hand and pulled me into the kitchen.  He ran up to the palm tree and said,”THERE!  Just like outside!!!”  ($7 well spent!)

He got some great gifts (thanks everyone!) including bongo drums and a guitar.  Needless to say, the concerts are now complete!  Although, he’s had a difficult time understanding why he can’t play the guitar like Jimmy Buffet.  He keeps saying, “Mommy, show me how to play like Jimmy Buffet!”

That sounds like Jimmy Buffet,” I say, in my cool, convincing mom tone.

“NO IT DOESN’T!”

Hmmm…..maybe someone will be taking guitar lessons in the future….

Here are some pics from the party.  Thanks to everyone who celebrated with us!

Today was Jackson’s very first day of school!!  Well, actually, he’s in a “Mother’s Day Out.”  The program is once a week from 9am-1pm…they sing songs, play games, makes crafts, eat lunch, etc…  It’s school!  I wasn’t sure if I was ready to enroll him yet, but HE was ready!

He was very excited yesterday to pack his backpack and lunchbox.  Actually, he spent most of the evening telling us all about how he was going to put lunch in his lunchbox and eat it at school!

So, how did our morning go??  Thanks for asking!

I had to wake him up at 8:15.  We’re not early risers, but I managed to get him dressed, teeth brushed, hair brushed, and fed.  (I even got Sawyer fed, too!)  I snapped (or attempted) a quick picture (and no, his shirt is NOT psychadelic…but stripes don’t photo so well…), but with Daddy already at work…well you see the pics I got.  So, then off to school!  When we arrived, several kids were already there.  I  held back some tears as we hung up his backpack and put his lunch away…I looked down to say goodbye and he was GONE!  He was already off playing with a train and some other kids!  I tried to tell him 3 or 4 times that “mommy is leaving…”  Nuthin.  Coulda’ cared less!  I also noticed that his shorts were a little big in the waist.  I just rolled them over once and told the teacher his shorts were a little big today!  (Way to go, mom.)

Sawyer and I did a little shopping (nice to only have to worry about one!) and then came home so the little guy could take a nap.  Before I knew it, it was time to pick Jackson back up.  I was the first one there…pick-up time is between 12:45-1:00 and by golly I was there at 12:44!  He was busy playing when I got there.  The teachers told him that I was there and when he saw me he yelled, “No!  NO!  I DON’T WANT TO GO HOME!!”  They all laughed…and I quess it’s good that he had so much fun!  I felt slightly jilted, though!  The teacher also pointed out that he had a bug bite that he was scratching and started to ooze a little.  So, they had to put a band-aid on it.  (Remember I’m already feeling embarrased that my son wants nothing to do with me!)

Then, on the way out, I was walking with a friend of mine –  Jackson and his friend Quinn were running off to the door.  My friend said, ” Oops!  His pants fell down!”  Jackson’s pants were so big that they were around his ANKLES!  He was just laughing and coulda’ cared less!  (Boys!)

Wow.  I bet I’m the talk of mom’s day out….poor little Jackson.  Who?  Jackson!  Oh yeah!  The little boy covered in bug bites, whose pants fell down, and didn’t want to go home???  Yes, Jackson!

Ugh!

Overall, he had a great time!  When I asked him what he did — he said, “I played with toys, and then Mrs. Ramsey taught me how to play a game, and then we sang a song, and I made something, and then we went outside, and then we came back inside, and then Mrs. Moss put a bandaid on my bug bite, and then we ate lunch!”

Sounds like it’s gonna be a fun year!!
