Minivans happen. October 27, 2008

That’s right.  Minivans happen.  Life happens.  Sh!t happens.

I always said I would never, ever, evah have a minivan…and then life happened.  I got married, had two kids, got two dogs, and got a minivan.  Unbelievable.  And maybe even more unbelievable is the fact the I love it!!!  Wednesday night we purchased (well…no car payments until December…which I still can’t figure out) a brand spankin’ new 2008 Honda Odyssey in Nimbus Grey.  It’s actually quite sweet if you ask me.

Buy hey, don’t take my word for it.  Come over and we’ll all go for a ride sometime in our party van!  We can all fit now!

(And you know if you don’t already own a minivan, you are secretly jealous.)

I love fall! October 20, 2008

I am so happy right now…because fall is my favorite season!  Warm apple cider, colorful leaves, brisk autumn air, amazing smells outside (think fires in the fireplace and crispy leaves…yum!), pumpkins….I could go on and on!  Oh, how I love fall!

We’ve been busy, as usual.  Jackson had his first field trip last week.  (And being the bad mommy, I didn’t take my camera.)  We went to an apple orchard/pumpkin patch.  Jackson, Sawyer, & I all picked our first apples off a tree!  We also took a little hayride and picked pumpkins off the vine.

This weekend, Brad’s parents came to visit and we went to the “Zoo Boo.”  The kids got to wear their costumes to the zoo and enjoy all the zoo fall festivities.  Jackson said to me tonight, “Mommy!  Can you believe I went trick or treating at the zoo!?!”

After his folks left town, we decided to get a head start on raking.  We scooped up about 8 bags of leaves…and the trees in back are still full!  Yikes.  Can’t wait until next weekend!  Anyway, this was the first year the boys really played in the leaves, so I had to take pictures.  They had fun…and made quite a mess.  Let’s just say, when they took baths tonight, I think a pound of leaves fell out of Sawyer’s diaper!  Ha!  All in the name of fun.  It reminded me of the days when my dad would rake leaves and I would play in them!  Oh….how I love fall!
